While most manufacturers are in the nVIDIA camp, Gigabyte is one of the first manufacturers to launch the Gigabyte Maya II Radeon 9700 Pro graphics card. As we know, GF4 Ti4600 was leading in the race for the past 9 months, ATi Radeon 9700 changed this over night and now we see another winner emerging. While most of the manufacturers will be similar to the ATi reference design, the packaging will probably make it different. The Gigabyte GV-R9700pro Radeon 9700 also is the first 8x AGP high end graphics card and support Complete DirectX® 9.0 support. In the next 2 pages are pictures of the card specifics followed by the benchmarks.
We ran the system under 8x mode on Shuttle AS45 mainboard using P4 2.8G + 512M Corsair XMS3200 DDR. We also explored the AntiAliasing and Anisotropic filtering modes comparing it to Chaintech GF4 Ti4600. We also explored the overclockability of this card.
