Accusys ci annuncia di aver messo a punto una soluzione hardware per utilizzare la tecnologia RAID con hard disk da 2.5". il prodotto si chiama InneRAID e permette l'installazione di due hard disk da 2.%2 e sfruttare la tecnologia RAID 1, per ottenere la sicurezza perfetta dei dati, grazie alla copia su due HD dei dati registrati.

Accusys, a leading RAID technology provider, today announced InneRAID® Slim, two-drive RAID box for 2.5-inch SATA disk drives. Occupying only the space of one standard 3.5" or 5.25" external drive bay, InneRAID® Slim is an excellent choice for protecting data and ensuring system availability in space-limited and rugged environments.

Robust real-time data protection
InneRAID® Slim connects to a host computer by single SATA/PATA interface, and real-time duplicates the data from host to the two 2.5-inch SATA disk drives in its enclosure. Because the RAID controller keeps the data on both disk drives, the system can continue operation and data can be kept when any one drive fails. In addition, any bad sectors on single drive can also be recovered by the RAID controller. The RAID and disk status can be easily monitored by the LED indicators on the RAID box front panel as well as by GUI software, which can keep event logs and send email to notify the administrators.

Effortless Integration
Because InneRAID® Slim connects to host by SATA/PATA, which is the most pervasive and low-cost storage interface, InneRAID® Slim can be deployed in a variety of platforms. It requires no add-on card or driver and the data protection is done at block level, so the data reliability of all kinds of operating systems and applications can be guaranteed. With the support to both SATA and PATA interfaces, InneRAID® Slim can enable smooth platform migration from PATA to SATA. To ease system integration, InneRAID® Slim also supports GPIO pins that can be programmed to support different applications as well as comprehensive open API through SATA/PATA and RS232.

Using 2.5" disk drives, InneRAID® Slim generates less heat and noise than that of 3.5" drive-based RAID solutions. Because of the fan-less design, InneRAID® Slim ensures better long-time availability and less maintenance effort. Together with its compact size (150x100x25.4 mm), cross-platform support, and hot-swapping disk drives, InneRAID® Slim is well suited for industrial computing systems, embedded computers, mini computers, or high-density servers.
